Cavemen and the prehistoric times is one of my favourite cartoon tropes. There’s really no better way to parody the present madness than to show it goes back to “the beginning.”
The corporate executive suite is another popular trope and it’s fun to mash them together.
I’ve also had a couple of set-to’s recently with some science-minded friends about evolution, so there’s a bunch of ‘toons here where monkey’s or ‘early hominids’ appear among us. Somehow they’re connected to the prehistoric theme. Personally I don’t think we’ve evolved at all. We’re the same stupid, petty, malicious, dangerous species. We just have developed an awful lot of technology along the way.
