Evolution?

Don’t get me wrong, I love science. We wouldn’t have a climate crisis without it. Ba da boom.

The most important principle of science is the idea of provability. For something (a theory, like the theory of evolution) to be “true,”, there has to be a way to prove it “false.” you have to be able to imagine a circumstance in which it is not true. It’s not possible to disprove the theory that we were once single-celled organisms, ergo, it’s not science but… religion? Pretty much.

Here’s the sketch for the cartoon up top, with a slightly different caption. The idea is simple enough. If we are constantly evolving, shouldn’t there be people at different stages of evolution co-mingling while natural selection does its magic? Indeed, “they” are among “us.”
